What we see after years in the field: most Gree performance complaints trace back not to the unit, but to a rushed installation that skipped evacuation, or a coil that hasn't been washed in years. The same unit, correctly installed and maintained, performs within the normal range for its class.
The faults we genuinely see on Gree units — in order
- Capacitors and contactors. They top the list by a clear margin. In Jazan especially, salty humidity oxidises the terminals and contact points so they lose capacitance — the cause of the "outdoor unit hums but won't turn" call we take constantly.
